Secreret Beach 2016-2019

Short history of Secret Beach Area

you arrive at the International Airport you will see a Secret Beach ad on display before you hop unto your local flight to the island, from there on it's all you will hear about! Located 7 miles North West of Ambergris Caye, visited only by local families back in the days and accessible only boat gave it it's name Secret Beach. It has since then become the most popular beach on the island of Ambergris Caye.

Over time a dirt road was developed which gave everyone Full Access to the small strip of then rocky beach where you can submerge yourself in crystal clear 4-5ft shallow waters expanding at least a mile out which started to attract not only locals but Visitors as well. With people slowly trickling in, so did Local Entrepreneurs. Starting with only a street food cart and a washed up beach bar that served limited items on island time it has now blossomed to be the island's most visited area. The area started gaining much publicity with the opening of its first fully operating restaurant and bar in October 2016 which then provided  social media coverage, clean restrooms, full bar and kitchen, credit card acceptance, Lounge Chairs, Inner tubes, Music, Wifi just to mention a few.  With a vision in mind owners came up with their restaurant name Pirates NOT-SO-SECRET Beach Bar and Grill, which is exactly what Secret Beach is today, NOT SO SECRET!

Make it a day and be sure to take your picture at the famous SECRET BEACH SIGN donated by Pirates. Secret Beach is a DAY TIME ONLY adventure, depending on your vibe, expect to stay at least 3 hrs, most restaurants and bars are closed by 6pm.

Navigating in the Area

The main hub of Secret Beach is where the sign is located. Upon Driving in, there will be several sales men trying to pitch you a line to lure you to a specific establishment, ignore them, there is much more offered  in the area than they will let you know. If you know where you are going kindly use the parking lot provided by that establishment. If you are not familiar as yet, drive straight to the sign, choose a parking space and comb the area walking to choose your favorite spot. The longest and most spacious stretch of beach is upon immediate arrival at Pirates featuring two shaded docks with seating as well.

Do not allow anyone below the age of 16 without a license to drive cart.
